Sunspots

I snapped this picture this morning, with my ordinary camera through a light fog - after I have seen the huge sunspot with the naked eye. The black spot close to the center of the sun disc - a huge magnetic storm on the surface of the sun, is about 13 times larger than the whole Earth. Apparently, people in the distant past were very puzzled to see sunspots through the fog or haze from forest fires - after all, the Sun was supposed to be spotless!

Expect some Northern Lights in the next few days!
