This post has generated some curiosity, being so different from basically everything I post here. So here is the story. The local photoclub encouraged its members to create small workgroups in a learning project and produce something new and different. For me, using a well equipped studio for portrait photography was totally new and something I wanted to start learning. The idea of this project was to take dramatically lighted pictures of young athletes and treat them in a striking, almost shocking way. Two-sided back-lighting created the contrasts, and I chose an aggressive blur and sharpen treatment of each photo, known as the Orton effect. The local high school volleyball team Mousquetaires de Montignac, coached by photographer/volleyball coach Yvan Plamondon, did a superb job modelling for this project and the pictures will be part of their school album. Enjoy the atmosphere of the photoshoot!
